This was one that I never saw in the bookstore, but was able to get through Overdrive!

Have not read an In Death book in several years。 This does not disappoint。 Great writing, mystery, and detective work。

Book #50 in the series, and it's completely special。 I love these characters so much。 I didn't get to read about some of my faves in this one though (Nadine & Bella especially) The mystery in this one was very on point; I couldn't drop the book。 Peabody showed a whole new side I completely loved, to someone very deserving of it。 The villain was pretty twisted, and I could feel the heartbreak the deaths caused very strongly。 But of course, he got what he deserved at the end, thanks to the bad-ass Book #50 in the series, and it's completely special。 I love these characters so much。 I didn't get to read about some of my faves in this one though (Nadine & Bella especially) The mystery in this one was very on point; I couldn't drop the book。 Peabody showed a whole new side I completely loved, to someone very deserving of it。 The villain was pretty twisted, and I could feel the heartbreak the deaths caused very strongly。 But of course, he got what he deserved at the end, thanks to the bad-ass crew of the NYPSD。 。。。more

Very good。

Golden in Death is another excellent entry in the wonderful "in Death" series。 Again Susan Ericksen provides an entertaining and fluid narration in this audio production。 A delivery of a surprise package holding a golden egg provides only murder and misery to its recipients and it falls to Lieutenant Eve Dallas and Detective Peabody to solve the case。 With the able assistance of the usual crew from the NYPSD and Roarke, her long-time partner, Dallas methodically tracks down the evil, but less-th Golden in Death is another excellent entry in the wonderful "in Death" series。 Again Susan Ericksen provides an entertaining and fluid narration in this audio production。 A delivery of a surprise package holding a golden egg provides only murder and misery to its recipients and it falls to Lieutenant Eve Dallas and Detective Peabody to solve the case。 With the able assistance of the usual crew from the NYPSD and Roarke, her long-time partner, Dallas methodically tracks down the evil, but less-than-masterful, murderer。 J。D。 Robb continues to contribute excellent storytelling and keep her readers entertained。 。。。more

Good mystery but way too much time spent on clothing and one looong sex scene

I own and have read all of JD Robb’s death series。 I obviously really enjoy the, lol! I really like to read a series involving the same characters and getting to know them。 She does an excellent job in keeping the stories going!

#50 (!) in the In Death seriesAs always, this was a wonderful book, especially as narrated by the amazing Susan Ericksen。 This time there is a deadly nerve agent that is being sent through the mail, in a seemingly random manner。 This one had a lot of tearjerker moments as the people killed were so nice and normal, with happy and loving families。 This is a strong police procedural, with less personal and more police work。 I always like the personal, but this one focused more on the work, and it w #50 (!) in the In Death seriesAs always, this was a wonderful book, especially as narrated by the amazing Susan Ericksen。 This time there is a deadly nerve agent that is being sent through the mail, in a seemingly random manner。 This one had a lot of tearjerker moments as the people killed were so nice and normal, with happy and loving families。 This is a strong police procedural, with less personal and more police work。 I always like the personal, but this one focused more on the work, and it worked for me this time。 Dallas and Peabody delve into the past to discover the reason for the murders。 It was great to revisit with Louise and Charles, Morris, Feeney, Callender, and Harvo (The Hair and Fiber Queen)。 We only talk about Baxter and Trueheart and Mavis; they aren't really part of this story。 So clever that the title is Golden for the 50th book of this series, with the bad guys being represented by a company called The Golden Goose。 I can't get enough of this series--it just never gets old。 。。。more

Solid addition to the series。

one of the worst onesTo start off - for some reason who ever is writing this now thinks it is funny to have Eve misspeak or question the reason behind idioms- it isn’t funny; it just makes Eve come across as ignorant, which is a disservice to such a strong and smart character。 Second- the scene where Eve and Peabody are interviewing the despicable headmaster - why would this woman bother to research Eve and Peabody? Just to fling insults and derail the questioning? Not likely- and Peabody raisin one of the worst onesTo start off - for some reason who ever is writing this now thinks it is funny to have Eve misspeak or question the reason behind idioms- it isn’t funny; it just makes Eve come across as ignorant, which is a disservice to such a strong and smart character。 Second- the scene where Eve and Peabody are interviewing the despicable headmaster - why would this woman bother to research Eve and Peabody? Just to fling insults and derail the questioning? Not likely- and Peabody raising to the bait because her family is being “attacked” that would play for a teenager not for a seasoned cop。 That was so below her dignity。 My final major complaint- the whole reason behind the deaths。 So weak。 It’s like the murder weapon was thought of first as well as the part of going after the spouses but then trying to come up with the killer and motive was an after thought and a stretch at that- weak and unbelievable。 If this is the quality we have to look forward to then end the series。 The series has steadily gone down hill over the past 15 or so books。 。。。more

ExplosiveI honestly can't get enough of these in death books。 I wish she could write one every six months and that would still be too long to wait。 I love each and everyone who is in them。incredibly well written and thought out。 ExplosiveI honestly can't get enough of these in death books。 I wish she could write one every six months and that would still be too long to wait。 I love each and everyone who is in them。incredibly well written and thought out。 。。。more

Great readLove reading this series! The characters are awesome and the bad ass Dallas keeps getting the bad guys! I wish I could see her clothes for real!

Sherry

I love this series, love the characters

Bad guys are killing individuals with no apparent enemies by means of toxic vapors。 Dallas catches them。

Phil Howard

Maybe a notch below most books in this series。 Pretty formulaic。

John MacConkey

Great read。 Eve and Rourke get better and better。

I love listening to the ‘In Death’ series and the majority of the books have all earned 5 stars。 This book is still definitely worth a read/listen it was just a bit slower than her normal stories in my opinion。

Maria

I do enjoy this series, the mystery, the romance, Eve and crew This book can be read as a stand alone but better to read in order so follow the progression in the characters

I jumped a few books ahead in the reading order because I'm celebrating my golden birthday this month and I needed it for my reading wrap-up。 I can't believe this is book number 50 and I've been devouring this series since 2013。 I'm glad I'm so far behind publication and I'm able to create a buffer despite the 2 books produced each year。 I thought this was a unique premise of special golden eggs containing fatal toxins sent out of revenge。 The murder weapon was unique and I think it was tied int I jumped a few books ahead in the reading order because I'm celebrating my golden birthday this month and I needed it for my reading wrap-up。 I can't believe this is book number 50 and I've been devouring this series since 2013。 I'm glad I'm so far behind publication and I'm able to create a buffer despite the 2 books produced each year。 I thought this was a unique premise of special golden eggs containing fatal toxins sent out of revenge。 The murder weapon was unique and I think it was tied into the special number 50 celebration。 It was great to revisit some old cases and we finally got to see the honey bunnies Dr。 Louise/ Charles。 I missed them so much and they haven't been seen in a while。 I'm sure it's hard to keep track of all the side characters, but I definitely have my favorites。One thing I am definitely tired of is Eve's relentless dissection of idioms。 It was cute I guess the first few times, but not's getting tiresome。 It makes her seem like an idiot not a decorated police lieutenant。 I'm complained about this before but the complaint still remains。 Petty critiques aside, I'm still head over heels for this series。 I hope it never ends! 。。。more

Outstanding! Started a little slow for me as I got familiar with the characters and then it took off。 This is the first of the series I've read and I can see why the series is so popular。 Listened to the audiobook and she did a great job voicing it。 Outstanding! One of the least riveting in the series。 Light on both the romance and the kick-ass。
